Just a few months after Antonio Wehrli’s unplanned return to Switzerland in 2020, he started the Galaxy Gravity series. In 2021, the intuitively created artworks became the central theme of his work.

Galaxy Gravity 20210828A / Galaxy Gravity 20210828B is not located on the blue planet Earth, like Wehrli’s previous artworks. In those works, the gravity flow of color becomes an abstract interpretation of visible,actually invisible energy that flows through the galaxies.

This free-flowing, energetically connecting gravity colors overflow the orderly arranged star systems in the artwork. The spectators can immerse themselves undisturbed in the distant worlds and undreamt-of places, which are doused with the energetic, unifying, sometimes disruptive and always freely flowing gravity colorflow.

Since the stars or universes are painted with interference colours, they appear different depending on the angle and either illuminate in strong colours or appear dull and distant.

This work shows a direct relevance to our time, in which new probes land on Mars, China and Russia are planning a lunar base and billionaires are proclaiming the era of space tourism.
