Yang Ming was born in Fushun County, Sichuan Province in 1967. He graduated from the Sichuan Academy of Fine Arts in 1989 and currently lives in Chengdu Landing Youth Art Village. I am used to seeing the impetuous urban landscape, but looking at Yang Ming’s paintings again, I feel a sense of rebirth: everything is so clear, bright, and agile—just like the world in the eyes of children. Yang Ming’s creative techniques are based on years of creative experience. The flexible lines are based on the lines and brushstrokes of traditional Chinese paintings, especially Chinese folk art such as New Year paintings, which provide reference and inspiration for his recent breakthroughs and innovations. The use of lines has replaced rigid and tedious sketches in the creative process, allowing imagination and writing Thinking in between becomes a useful buffer, but leaves more free space for self-expression.
